So, no, I do not feel bad about or feel that anyone is doing anything wrong if they picked it up and then offered it back. And you know that I don't like scumbags in the industry but this does not sound like one. They gave plenty of time for it to be re-registered.

You also don't know that when they picked it up that they knew who had it before. You are guessing at that part I think. I have picked up domains on the drop many times before. I never worried about why they were being dropped.

If that domain was that important, the owner had plenty of time to re-register it. If there was a site on it then that site must not have been very important.

If there was no site then the owner was cyber-squatting it to begin with.

No harm, no foul in this one.

Just my

Hi sarettah,

I mostly agree - if someone lets a domain go for months without using it, and someone else needs it, that's ok, even if it was one of mine. But in this case, the guy is just squatting on it. He told Jen that is using it but it has a for sale sign on it, and, if his intentions were good he wouldn't be trying to sell it to her at a huge markup.

And besides, i'm the owner of the domain. I'm all over GFY and he could have easily found me but instead, emails one of my support staff. As GFY's biggest douchebag, I'm calling douchebag on this one.

He's trying to sell it to my employee instead of to me, the original domain owner. He knows who I am, and he knows the domain - its only been one of mine for 18 years or something like that. Maybe not technically a scam, but I feel like its a scam.

I'm waiting for him to post in this thread or contact me directly. So for nothing yet.

Come on T ....... man up.
