You know that's mainly to do with Australia and New Zealand waking up to China, you don't send them your cheapest and worst.. but your most expensive and best.. the cheap shit goes to the USA. Its why a small micro country like New Zealand can have a free trade agreement with China, the locals are VERY patriotic towards anything New Zealand made and reject, unless unavoidable products from China, or other countries.

If a leader from Australia or NZ got up and said.. God Bless Aus/ NZ.. the next day they would be looking for a new job.

If Trump got America in the same mind set, no tariffs are needed, he was kinda there with the "Hire American, Buy American" slogan but he's hardly pursued that or even attempted to lead by example with his own businesses and products.
