You should go to the following cities. Barcelona, Venice, Paris, Glasgow, Dublin, London. All really great cities and each Country will offer you something different. It shouldn't be very expensive to hop between them all, especially from Netherlands > UK > Ireland, you can take $40 ferries or trains mostly.
Have a great time. One of these days I am going to take 30-45 days and drive from Paris all the way to Croatia, stopping in Andorra, Spain, Monaco, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria and Slovenia! That would be a pretty wild trip, stop off for 2 nights max in a different City or Town. 10-11 Countries, 20-30 Cities/Towns.
