The trade war threat didn't came from China did it?, the only reason your stock market today is not down below 20,000 is Xi.. repeated what he said last year. Research " Xi's speech at Davos " and while your there look up his trade philosophy because it certainly goes against everything Trump touts.
Had of Xi said anything different, right now the USA would be in melt down. Your president might be willing to wipe billions off in a day, XI won't because he's a leader not a celebrity TV host primarily concerned about ratings.. but he can after all the USA represents only 21.1% of their trade..

Population wise, the USA has a far greater trade imbalance with Australia, don't see the Australian government screaming much about that do we, in fact they were willing to open it up even more but then Trump cancelled TPP, even though the USA had a surplus with us. Ask your pork and beef farmers how that worked out for them.. hehe Australia just went straight to Japan and nicked your market share from there.
The imbalance the USA has with China is to do with your consumer habits, and what your trying to sell them back. Stop trying to sell the Chinese shit, and stop consuming 2 dollar crap and the problem goes away. But nah must have those chemical sugar fruit loops for breakfast...
Also the trade imbalance disappears naturally as China grows, the world's just at a crossover point, they already consume more than they can produce and their only at 25%
The best indicator if Trump had anything to do with this.. is look at the news in other countries, if Trump was responsible, no other country would be more appreciative than Australia, as 80% of our trade is with China, pulling back sanctions makes us.. Trillions
