You are one hundred percent right. The two largest military powers in the world should go head, starting in Syria, a country devastated by ten years of civil war. The first thing that will go will be our Internet, so there's that to think about. The second thing to go will be our power. The third will be our water supply. Millions of people will die.
Just like you said, this should be handled by international law. The courts. If my neighbor kills someone the local police don't bomb his place of work and kill dozens. Instead the local police would arrest someone. The same thing applies here.
We need to stay out of Syria. I know we want to do the right thing, but this is not our fight and not our battle.
