At the end of the day, the voters don't make laws, they elect officials to do it. The republicans want to stay in office. If they can't raise money because people believe they are going to lose, they will leave office. It appears the national mood is 10 - 15% more democrat leaning OR republicans are not turning out. Either way, Trump is already hobbled by the media, so he will not be like Clinton and recover. He will continue to be attacked and will therefore probably lose in 2020 or choose not to run.
Again, Trump is smarter than I am. I try not to underestimate him. But what path does he have?

Dems will do what they always do and overestimate their hand and run someone like Kamala Harris thinking they are so smart. Look at Bladewire, the guy is already touting her as the next great candidate. She will hands down be a disaster.
