What gives you the idea that the use of a nuke is such an alarming event. The Nuclear powers have detonated hundreds upon hundreds of Nukes in the air and under the Ocean. Kim has the ability to cause massive loss of Korean life with conventional weapons with out the use of Nukes. The use of a nuke/nukes on his part would just ensure that NK would not be allowed to exist as a separate country and that he would not be allowed to live.
The US does not have to use nukes to totally defeat Kim with a relatively small loss of US lives but a conflict would cause the massive loss of Korean lives with or without the use of nukes by either side. I seriously doubt that we would even respond with the use of a nuke/nukes even if he somehow managed to deploy a nuke to South Korea or Japan. There is no need for us to do that. Kim is a pimple on the ass of America's military power.
