On a serious note, Russian army just want to test their new weapons on real targets (humans, buildings, vehicles etc...) So the generals just play their games.

Edit: Just opened the actual article. It's about attacking the US flying techs like aircrafts and missiles. Russian electronic warfare weapons have always been top notch ("the most aggressive electronic warfare environment on the planet" as some American general says), so they must be tested on real targets constantly. Our US friends are so kind to help with that. So nothing is new here again.

Americans rely on drones, but those are cool only somewhere in Somalia. A developed country like Russia can jam them, disorient or even hack/steal them - get a control over them and make them do what they want and land where they want (in fact they already done that). And that the article says it right, Russians must be best in the world on that. That's not because Americans are stupid or so. That's because the whole technology which is based on distant control is very fragile and vulnerable buy its nature/concept.

Course it's possible to use the AI instead, but nobody can guaranty it won't attack the ailed forces accidentally or under influence of enemy electronic systems and when we'll get this:

You realize "peaceful" Putin is wanting to build a army of autonomous drones with the intention of using them in Europe?

Basically most nations were taking about the threat of going full autonomous and were willing to not do it.. except peaceful Russia who wants to move forward with drones that can kill people with out human guidance..

Just like how Russia restarted the nuclear arms race by building new types of nuclear delivery systems.. you know peaceful Putin..
