I think blacks in america got seriously shafted for hundreds of years. They like to say "400 years" but it wasn't that long, however, are we really splitting hairs?
They went through unimaginable suffering. Then they were freed and treated like shit for another hundred years.
The anger they have won't go away and isn't good for them, white people, or the US. Most blacks hate white people more than they'll admit, and blame white people for all and sundry wrongs in their life.
I think the only way to get rid of that anger is to confront these images, allow them to exist in reality because they happened. Even then who knows. Maybe the US doesn't survive it.
White people today of course don't want to face that. I'm not sure they should have to. The sense exists that someone should "pay" for that time, but that isn't how reality works. Living well is the best revenge, they say.
