That is what I thought. Slavery was the only right they wanted. So it was a war about slavery. So now imagine explaining the monuments built in the 1920’s to a young black child. Or the confederate flag that was flown over a state capital. Stone Mountain in Atlanta is even crazier.
Of course they can’t blame all of their ills on this. My thought was why do we feel it is ok to do this still?
