I'm just saying that looking at the past is what keeps the Middle East in constant crises, Serbia, Turkey, Iraq, etc. We should focus on the very real racism happening in America RIGHT NOW instead of looking back hundreds of years trying to reconcile wounds that can only heal by looking forward.
It's a very complex issue and I do not know any answers, just how I try to conduct myself. I try to get along with ALL races and colors. But that's just me I guess. I care more about a person's behavior and if they are a good person or not. What they look like doesn't matter to me AT ALL.

So my thought was why did we in the last hundred years put up statues to the Confederacy? The war was over and they lost. A state capital up until recently flew the confederate flag over it. My understanding is they were symbols of racism and were being used to send a message. Seems a bit sick.
Now we have a new monument. Pretty tough imagery in this thing. Makes people think. I am not totally comfortable with it but it is not mine to say.
