It's not just that, but people in some of those areas will openly tell people their families owned slaves..
The south is all kinds of fucked up and it's not just white people though. Blacks in the south act like some of the most getho fuck offs you've ever seen.
Not all of course but if you figure a large percentage of white people are dumb rednecks in the south you will see a equal representation of dumb ass black people acting like getho thugs in the south.
Both groups feed off each other's hate, both groups are to blame IMO. Granted whites did use govt and police to disenfranchise black people so to some degree I suspect acting like getho thugs is a response to that by saying fuck the govt kinda thing.
