There are still adult sites out there making money. Tubes, blogs, even a few old TGPs! Do people just hang on to them forever? Some of them most go up for sale.
As for me, I'm getting older and I wouldn't mind unloading some of my sites just because I don't want to deal with owning them anymore. There's really not much to it, I just rather have the lump sum and be done with it in some cases.
After years of staring at computer screens sometimes you'd rather go take a hike in the forest than spend more time hunched over a keyboard.
