But he didn't get disposed from anyone, he got caught out lying to the FBI, a very public FBI investigation and one involving the most senior officers of the FBI... not the sort of case your want to be caught red handed lying in.
All you can really conclude is they had nothing on him, and he had nothing to offer back.
He got 30 days and a 20k fine, yet he had potential charges of a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
To me Van der Zwaan should be in this up to his eyeballs, but a judge who had the all the facts, gave him the min sentence possible.... Slap on the wrist don't lie to the FBI.
