But you know, the best way to find the truth is seek it yourself.
eg. Go visit a mosque, a muslim country (maldives, indonesia, bahrain, dubai perhaps) and talk to muslims.
I do see where you are coming from. But trust me the picture is not as bleak as you think, i have vacationed and transitted through plenty of muslim countries.
You can always find figures somewhere to back up your way of thinking, on any subject.
