that's bullshit...
at my peak i was doing sets at 360 at 4-6 reps and was climbing. I was aiming for maxing out at 405 but had some issues with my rotator cuff so had to step back. Never on anything more than whey protein and a LOT of food. It was a lot of whey but other than that I was clean. You can inch your way up if you do it right and work other muscle groups properly.
These days I don't push it too much as it interferes with other sports I play so I don't get sets at much over 270.
edit: oh for incline i didn't get much over 260, less with reps.. always found that one a lot tougher. decline or reverse grip flat i could do a lot more though.
