Never went to Kings Palace? Never asked how much they pay had to pay when get stopped by traffic police? I mean not the official fine, but the 'hand over fine' when you can buy your way out
I get stopped with a motorbike and they locked it and said i had to go to police station to pay the fine. While walking away to the police station they come to you and offer an extra service, for 1000 baht there is no need to go to police station... I heard the Thai where asked 500
But anyway, i just walked to the police station and paid the normal 200 baht fine and got my motobike back
There are local prices and thai prices. But mostly there are differences cause the Thai know the local prices and most tourist forget to negotiate. I Always start with 50% of the asking price. They say a price, you pretend to walk away and you get a lower price.
