UPS collects from Amazons warehouses and they do a large % of the delivery milage then USPS gets to finish off the last few miles. Now that may be different in other states but i doubt it. To confirm this i just asked our UPS driver who said this is exactly how it works in Maine.
that's fine, thank you for posting, but it has nothing to do with what i posted. again, I was responding to the statement that 99% of all amazon deliveries are handled by UPS. that's simply not true and I proved that with facts from research analysts. My statement was not wrong.

I seriously doubt the local UPS driver knows full well how the entire state of Maine gets amazon deliveries though. And why would amazon pay more and have the extra delays and unreliability of surepost in Maine with shipping that doesn't meet Prime delivery standards? It's doubtful they would, that's bad business. But your UPS guy says so, let's go with that then. I don't have a reason to debate you on it.
