Wow that's too bad. Apple clearly made a mistake providing the OEM stand on their website, and the makers of that stand really cheaped-out on the screws. Sounds like bad decisions all around.
The guy is right about the usual support provided by Apple - they are really excellent. They still give me free support for a now 9 year-old iMac whenever I have a question, with no wait time.
