Try paying european prices. US gas prices are so cheap in comparison.

Those prices are per liter.
So you need to multiply by 3.785 for get the US gallon price in GBP.
Then multiply again by around 1.33 (gbp/usd ex rate) to get the USD price.
The highest is in the Netherlands : £1.48 per liter = $7.45 per US gallon.
Poor old Greece is not far behind at £1.45 per liter = $7.30 per US gallon.
The average salary there is less than 1/2 of the US !
So they are effectively pay 4-5 times more for gas.
I guess tho that the US being so vast, that you guys often cover more miles.
So even tho gas is half the price in the US, your costs are not necessarily 1/2.
Could be interesting to compare the actual average weekly spend between people in the US and in Europe.
