Budapest is one of the safest capitals in the world. The biggest atrocity you may encounter is petty crime (pickpockets in crowded areas), tourist scams (expensive bills in Váci street, almost exclusive to that area), or - albeit very rare - getting in trouble with very drunk brits on a stag party. If you use common sense, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. And while our prime minister is lowkey for-putin, people here in everyday life are either anti-putin or just don't care. I have a ukrainian friend from Kiev who is visiting BP about twice a year, he loves it
Our food is hearty but nothing extraordinary i think. Still, worths a try, you may like some of them. You may find some dishes familiar. I don't know what you like, so
look around here.
