Nevertheless, I know what you are getting at. In light of the suicide crisis we have, if a terminal patient is mentally fit, then they should not choose suicide just to avoid the human condition [of suffering this mortal coil].

I agree with you in most circumstances it is the most selfish act one can perform, but I also think if someone thinks they are about the be a burden on others then it becomes more of a selfless act.
I've known quite a few terminal people in my life, and although none committed suicide I would not have faulted them one bit.
