If we would take this, then it would appear that in just 23 years since 1994, both sides have become widely incapable of withstanding each other.
While the conservative voters should be, theoretically (by its text book definition) less open to the opposing view. What one can observe is that the rate of not being open to the other side grew at much larger proportion in the opposing direction, thus among the "liberal" side.

Our American constitution declares that all citizens have equal rights.
If there wasn't an issue with equal rights in America, equal rights wouldn't be part of the Democrat, or for any, political platform.
Some whites want to increase America's white population by decreasing equality of the races in America both legally & socioeconomically. That's sucks
