In a few countries around the word when someone goes to "prison" not just jail their family is allowed to go to prison with them if they choose to and they are housed in houses not behind bars or even in dorms. We are the richest country on the earth and of course we can house detainees in quarters that are not jails or prisons.

I think that the word of the children would be sufficient to say who their parents are or are not.
