IMHO from the illegal foreigners perspective, the actions of breaking into the US, and reaping its social and economic benefits, is more inline with "everyone else is doing it, and its not hurting anyone", much like consumers enjoying the stolen content on the free tube sites.
If we use the "robbing a bank" scenario, we can agree that the robber was aware of the risks of getting shot, jailed or even killed. The action of the robber still effects his or her family and friends. The same goes for the person illegally crossing into the US, and for the family left they behind somewhere.
Certainly we can all agree that illegal immigration is a major violation of the law, and punishment is due. With that stated, we can choose to be compassionate human beings, realize that their living conditions back home are horrible, understand why many of them tried to break in, and feel sorry for the living parents, sisters/brothers, sons and daughters that are now without the primary bread winner.
