What bothers me is that we live in a world where people can completely flip out over a headline from very dishonest news sources which are all dying and have long since became info-tainment.
Not a single person thinks rationally and asks "ok,, lets look at this,... what are the facts exactly" but instead simply respond to a mental image or an idea "should children be torn from parents" and do so in a complete vacuum, with no facts AND then don't care about the facts.
It reminds me a great deal of living in Russia. Everyone used to say "you can't believe anything on the news" and then at the same time, you'd see that anytime the news said something they wanted to believe, that "thing" on the news became gospel.
US media at this point is every bit as bad as Russian media. The difference is that Russian is controlled by the government and here, they are just dying and forced to basically become those little paid ad content blocks (taboola/outbrain) at the bottom of sites with headlines like 'This kid stood in front of a semi and you won't believe what happened next" - except it's the mainstream public reacting to those little ad blocks.
