MASSILLON — City officials are speaking out about a week after federal immigration authorities descended on several facilities belonging to a meat supplier in northeast Ohio and arrested 146 people. The arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers came at the Fresh Mark plant in Salem, while offices in Canton and Massillon were raided. Massillon council members had varying opinions on the issue, suggesting that its not something city government can help regulate or steer toward resolution, especially with the federal government's ongoing probe.
