I read today that experienced cave divers (not just divers, but cave divers) are going to have to go in, and train the kids on what to do before they can escape. They may have to dive down and swim long stretches before they can get out. I wonder if these poor kids will have to suffer from the bends on top of other things... geeezuz..
They wont get the bends doing cave diving, but the issues are likely narrow pathways and mud/dirt that once mixed into the water can cause them to become disorientated. Disorientation is the main reason people die in caves. The water isn't flowing fast, so if they stir up the dirt/mud it will stay stirred up and they wont know where they are going. Granted I'm sure they've placed ropes to lead there way, but it's still can cause issues.

Honestly, I'm surprise they used Navy seals and not experienced cave divers in the 1st place. I guess they Navy can get there faster but I wonder if they train for cave stuff.

What gets me, is can you guys imagine how dark it was for those 9 or 10 days for them and having no sense of time/day..
