Not a good thing. This means less money for infrastructure and government services, and it means more of your taxes goes towards paying off the debt, and the interest on the debt.

How is it resolved? If anything the costs are now even higher. You have to care for kids in jail oops sorry immigration camps, have more legal battles to deal with, transport immigrants everywhere, deal with bad publicity, etc. He hasn't fixed it he's made it worse.

Except that's not. People could be fleeing violence or persecution. Fleeing their country for the US may be their last chance. If you turn them away, they would and should try to enter again.

And of course, we are over simplifying things here - illegal immigration is a huge problem for any country. Labeling these poor people as an "infestation" like he did recently is not the answer.
