Except that's not. People could be fleeing violence or persecution. Fleeing their country for the US may be their last chance. If you turn them away, they would and should try to enter again.

And of course, we are over simplifying things here - illegal immigration is a huge problem for any country. Labeling these poor people as an "infestation" like he did recently is not the answer. |
We were losing our major corporations to tax havens. Also vast sums of money were being kept out of the country for tax reasons. This also effects our tax rolls. We have some of the lowest taxes for personal taxes in the industrialized world. We are not over taxed as Trump claims.
I misunderstood the Third Country agreement. But we could strike this up with Mexico.
The US has weird asylum laws. It is slow and painful. Congress needs foam ctuslly act at some point. It can not just keep pushing it down the road. The idea of not letting people get legal and making it easier to stay here at the same time is also a form of abuse.
I totally get that Trump screwed this up. My thought is maybe it is time, the US looked at this and made some real resolutions.
