Based on what he said in the first couple of minutes I could tell he's talking about "leaving one in the tank", which is the way I work out also. I do have aches and pains from a nagging hip flexor strain and some shoulder issues, but I work out pretty hard and almost never have the kind of muscle soreness which keeps me from functioning normally.
More volume = more gains. It's tough to get that volume if you go so hard that you're always too sore to work out.
And what he's talking about at 4:20 is what keeps you fit...having fun. I'll stand in one spot and do power cleans for 30 minutes straight because I fucking love doing the movement and I'm always trying to perfect it. Looking at that same 30 minutes as grueling work will not be sustainable.
