It probably will have a lot to do with public support or outrage over there. In this country, yes they'd try to hang him because someone "always" has to be blamed here. Over there it might be different due to it being a different culture.
They might be a lot more forgiving then people are here, specially being the coach kept the kids alive in there for 9 days and didn't take any food for himself but saved it for the kids.
He made a mistake, but after they were there it's 100% sure those kids wouldn't have lived with out him, so he might be looked at as a villain but also maybe a hero. Here he would be charged with out a doubt because someone always has to be blamed..
