They might be a lot more forgiving then people are here, specially being the coach kept the kids alive in there for 9 days and didn't take any food for himself but saved it for the kids.
He made a mistake, but after they were there it's 100% sure those kids wouldn't have lived with out him, so he might be looked at as a villain but also maybe a hero. Here he would be charged with out a doubt because someone always has to be blamed..

The coach made that town famous worldwide for a week and showcased their ability to do the impossible, plus the coach taught the boys to meditate in the cave, which slows the metabolism, he kept them alive by doing that. He's young too, they might be more forgiving, he is only 25.
