There is no peacyfully trade with Russia. The EU gave them sanctions regarding Crimea etcetra and Russia just renewed the sanctions against the EU. Russia adapted and producing more things themselves. With the new pipeline Russia will be making more money.
On one hand people say Putin put Trump in power and that it is very very very bad they say. On the other hand they are more eager to make money with Russia. If it is all true it means, Putin put Trump in power cause he saw that that could be the best way to stop sanctions and build a pipeline. But now there is the problem that Germany wants the pipeline, but the don't want Trump. But now Trump is doing exactly what the Germans and Russians want. He was less negative about the pipeline And again it is bad? Can't they just make up their mind.
And than we forget about Crimea. The EU never cared about that. Excepts some populist like Guy Verhofstadt. If the Russians didn't take action, it would be a civil war. Germany doesn't for sure care about Crimea. They will be banking on the pipeline and Ukrain will lose that income. The relations with Russia (money money) are more important that of the poor Ukrain. And in the end the EU tax payer will pay for it to make 'Ukrain ready for the EU". A sort of compensation for the pipleine. While nobody wants the Ukrain to join the EU.
It will be a matter of time when more shits will come up. At least it is easy to discover the ties between Russia and German politicians, Putin openly has them in the pocket.
So is Putin a friend or enemy? If he was involved in the USA elections and made Trump president, shouldn't we all stand right behind the USA and against Russia? I think so. Or not; the USA has faked many elections themselves. But when the shit hits the fan, it will spread further. So see what comes next
