But in my view, 80% of success here is attitude. Treat them with respect, stroke their ego if you must but make them understand that they are a SERVICE PROVIDER to YOU. Simply one of many options and that YOU will make the final decision about your health while taking their guidance, input and knowledge into consideration.

The fact of the matter is that Western medicine is optimized for two things
1) Blanket, non-customized treatment of the masses
2) Profits

The task at hand is to take charge, outsmart the system and attempt to cherrypick the good parts to the best of your abilities. Obviously not always easy, but the best you can do is good enough.
