The fact of the matter is that Western medicine is optimized for two things
1) Blanket, non-customized treatment of the masses
2) Profits
The task at hand is to take charge, outsmart the system and attempt to cherrypick the good parts to the best of your abilities. Obviously not always easy, but the best you can do is good enough.
