DOT physical is pretty easy TBH.. they don't even play with your wang... It's really if the trucking company you go to has any doctors when it comes to COPD and so on.No proof but that is one issue I didn't like about Prime, was it seemed like they were telling far too many people that they had COPD. It almost makes me think their in house doctors are getting kick backs for forcing drivers to buy those $1k machines and pay for the monitoring.
This is what I'd say about that. It wasn't a issue for me, but I know drivers who are now forced to use those COPD machines and if they don't use it as much as their supposed to use them Prime will make them sit and not move until they've used it the right amount of hours.. even on their home time if they don't use the damn machine then try to come back Prime will not give them a load until it's been used..
If whatever company you go to tries to tell you that you have to use those machines, quit right there on the spot. By all means go to a real doctor and get checked out to see if you really need it, but if one of the company doctor's tries to push that on you quit right then and there, because once you get that on your CDL medical card it's nearly impossible to get it removed.
Basically the DOT is pushing the COPD testing heavily on these companies so they have to make sure they are compliant and if you are over a certain body mass or smoked it's almost certain they will make you do sleep tests at any of the big carriers.
