When I lived in Seabrook my neighbor was Hispanic and across the road was a mixed-race couple. In Rye Beach my neighbors were black, and that’s on a high-priced exclusive area. The husband always came over to help me shlep in groceries.
In Portsmouth I worked in a complex of businesses with a black-owned company making green/black/red African merchandise. They made me a snow hat with a big P on the front and a tri-colored pompom. I still have it.
The stats depend on who responded to the survey. What percentage of residents stated their color?
Right over the border from Massachusetts is a large population of non-whites. Near Lowell, you’ll find liquor seekers as NH allows Sunday liquor sales. People there aren’t going to be counted as many are illegal, drug sellers, refugees and law-breakers. They hide from anyone trying to establish them as a resident.
Find out the stats of Salem and bordering communities. Hispanic and African-American presence is heavy, plus Cambodians, Vietnamese, Laotians and other third-world countries.
