I feel like I'm a reasonably smart person, despite all evidence to the contrary, but damned if I know how to solve this shit. A whole lot of black people really really hate white people, like to a degree that no white person can imagine. Then there are black people who have absolutely no hatred of white people, and even like them. But most black people, at least based on what I see, have a hard time accepting the level of recent and present prejudice against them that is embedded in all layers of society.

If you go the rainbows and love route, you lose the people with legitimate concerns. If you go the reparations and guilt route, you activate people who are just obsessed assholes.

Maybe it just takes time, who knows.
