Also...watching the Wall Street Journal business report today, they said that Nike sales have been way down for the last few years.
So if Nike sales were already low...and this year they rose 14% on Labor Day 2018 over Labor Day 2017 (17% Labor Day rise last year, 31% this year)...then it just means they did a little bit better in low sales.
I'd wonder about the actual numbers compared to the past (before the economy crashed and then stagnated for 8 years). My guess would be that they are still super-low.
They are betting that being "edgy" by using Kapernick will pay off and get them back to being "cool" again.
Might work. We'll see.
