America and somewhat the world was desperate for a fall out guy from 9/11, and they found it in Moussaoui, but its doubtful he even knew of the 9/11 plan, so the Government trumped up every charge they could... to please the public. They had a planB if 9/11 failed and he was possibly part of that plot, problem was he wasn't too smart just another radical who'd lost his mind, So HIGHLY doubtful he would of ever been used, but also HIGHLY likely he would of tried some lonewolf kind of attack... he's a mental case.

There was a enough evidence there to charge him "based on what others had done" and he had conspired with terrorist's by receiving money from them. But really it was fuck all considering what they charged him with. There was NO way anyone was going to represent him properly in the USA
The judge ordered mental evaluation, and yep the guy was totally off his head and should of been in a psychiatric institution

Part of the defence was that Moussaoui had been radicalised by Atif Ahmed in the UK.
Judge Brinkema ORDERED that he find a lawyer but no one in the USA would take the case so they reached out to the European Court of Justice and Parliaments...

Moussaoui needs to be locked away, but the reasons they did it on what a total fucking sham... to keep the public happy.
