arouns 8 years ago or so, 5 friends (from Croatia) went on a student trip to usa, one month long trip to travel around on low budget and see a bunch of stuff, they had plane tickets with exact dates and all that
one of them developed a pneumonia, roughly 10 days since arrival and they spent so much money on pills and doctors for that one guy that they returned home hungry because of the expenses
Croatia also got free medicare and it is exploited a lot.. so I can't say I'm up for 100% free but there gotta be a sane balance so you don't go bankrupt just because you had to have a medical procedure of some kind
dunno what the best way is, but sucks if it isn't balanced in some way
