that's called an
eating disorder.
no judgment, but that is what it is. not sure if this is still the case but eons ago when I DJ'ed in a strip club two body builder competitors (they cleaned up on cash when they worked and were really wicked chicas) whom I met that danced there confided that eating disorders are endemic in body-building, esp for women.
I personally count calories as it prevents anxiety as I am neurotic as fuck, but would think any doc in the world would rec eating some watermelon or mango over the behavior you describe above.
I hope your friend is safe and can create some more healthy methods of maintaining her weight. What you describe will kill her.
