This is actually low revenue for me. I don't buy traffic or pull any tricks though, no link exchanges, banners, spam, etc.
When you rank for good key words because you actually have good content you can convert well.
If people are searching "where to buy a vacuum" and you have a site with all the info they need about buying vacuum cleaners that ranks first page of Google you can earn majorly.
I have mainstream sites that earn 2 to 3 times as much as this site with one fourth the traffic.
I also have a sex toy site that earns about as much as this site with just 5000 views a month. It just ranks high and converts like crazy on an expensive product with a great affiliate rate.
Of course I have two more sites with decent traffic that barely earn anything because they don't have good related affiliate programs.
