Tod for example has been in the business for years, (EX AVN) and not only does he know people at the places he submits your release to, but because it's him, it assures you get published. Likewise he also has access to a golden list of emails of people who are both in the industry, and / or serious fans of the industry that have signed up to receive emails from him.
So a release written and distributed by a seasoned vet carries a lot more reach to actual potential customers than you might originally think, based on the fact that a press release is considered very old fashioned.
