Yup and eating meat and protein rich food raises insulin levels as well. Excess protein gets converted to glucose and consuming too much will also mess with your insulin sensitivity.
Sugars are not as bad as you claim - I believe it boils down to poor word choice. In this day and age going outside is "bad for you" Consuming fructose is counterproductive for those attempting to lose weight. Thats about it. Every body type is different and each person will metabolize said sugars differently.
