well - maybe you misinterpret that.
When I talk HERE about trump supporter I talk from this guys who will not listen to ANY argument. guys who tell me that USA is not a demoracy or guys who do not understand the rules of economy or simply can not count 1+1.
NO argument in the world will change their mind and even Trump knows that when he said he can shot a child on the street and his supporters will not run away.
these people ARE idiots in my eyes - but not harmless idiots - they are dangerous same the idiots who believed in the 3rd reich.
i have studied the history of the 3rd empire intensively and therefore see how things repeat themselves here - and that frightens me.
I HAVE studied market economy and a master's degree in it and therefore I can better assess the economy. I don't expect every parking attendant to have the same knowledge, but it frightens me that these parking attendants simply ignore scientific facts from professionals.
In fact under my best personal friends are people who voted for trump and they are still my friends because I am able to discuss that topic with them in a human and regular way.
There is nothing worse in that world than facts deniers - arguments are useless. they wand to force us to jump from roof of a skyscraper with them because the believe that this will end well. how do you call such people? In my world, such individuals are protected from themselves in madhouses.
a discussion with such people will not even let you get to the real problems (what are much older and bigger than trump because they have their roots in a system what is based on the interpretation of a book that is nearly as old as the bible).
maybe the germans here can see that better as all you guys can because we did not learn national pride. YOU AMERICANS have teached us that national pride leads to something evil. and you know what? I say THANK YOU to those americans who took the burden from us and teached us to think like individuals and not as an army what have to follow and love the flag.
do you know that i can piss on the german flag in the middle of a german city and i get fined for littering ?
do you know that we also have a constitution and parts of that are MUCH older than the american. but this is not a bible for us. and we change it also from time to time.
if we could get along with the basics and everybody could understand why trump is just a name what will be one day connected to the next SUPERHUGE worldwide financial crisis, we could really discuss about the roots of the problems and trump is not such a root he is a product of them.
he is just an old senile guy with knowledge from nothing and no will to learn. today he will say the opposite from yesterday and what he says tomorrow we will see.
he is simply the gardener in a garden in which too much weed already grows and because he can't tell the difference (as well as his followers) he waters the weed. in HIS world it makes no difference because he will not experience the full extent of his actions, in OUR world (which consists of only 3.7% Americans) it is unfortunately not so.
you guys brought us to the moon, you guys will bring us to mars, you guys are well known for realizing so many beautiful things on this planet and you guys lived from that not bad in compare to 96,3% of the rest population.
THIS is the america I would like to have back. people who can teach us and learn from us (what you actually did anyway).
i love the crazy, hospitable and respectful americans (and everyone i've ever met OUTSIDE the usa ARE respectful) - i love the ability to remove the word IMPOSSIBLE from the vocabulary. i love the america that i knew as a child and that for a long time was also the america i liked to look up to.
i don't hate america ! i just see that america increasingly lives in a reality that doesn't exist. and the reasons for THAT should be discussed because THERE are the solutions.
the discussion here is about the same as when i show someone a red traffic light and say "i'll explain to you why you should stop now" and he answers "but the traffic light is green" (even if it is red for everyone to see).
you will NEVER NEVER NEVER get to the point that it is actually about because your opposite is a reality denier.
