There are opportunities for unskilled labor in the U.S., they just generally don't involve the production of physical goods. This happens as rich countries transition into service-based economies, because having a better standard of living goes hand in hand with not doing dangerous, physical labor. Unskilled U.S. workers can work in the service economy as waiters, attendants, cleaners, etc.
