religion had nothing to do with 9/11....if you drop 25.000 bombs/year, every year, for decades and decades, eventually, somebody is going to fight back...
the problem with your venting anger because of disproportionate violence, that you unreasonably expect no backlash for, is that you accused the wrong people...your character may as well be gay cum swapping with jesus and budhha...
the west simply sees nothing wrong with inflicting violence upon others but is SHOCKED when somebody fights back...one action does not excuse the other but the SHOCK is unjustified...what did you expect?
