Yes, people will be put out of work. But the new jobs will be in robots, AI and automation. Until robots create new robots to do those jobs too. If that's the case, then we could all receive a basic universal income and pursue exactly what we want. Of course, some people would hate that because while they may think they love what they do, it's possible they could find out the main incentive for their work is money. But there would also be a group of people who definitely chose soul-sucking profession for the money, and they love the idea of deep sea fishing whenever they want without having to worry about paying the bills. Although, they could have found a way to make money with deep sea fishing instead of being an insurance adjuster and only fishing once a month. But I digress.
The two factions will emerge and go to war while the robots run things. Whoever wins the war will be made into slaves by the robots who are smart enough by this time to realize a human is a useless bag of meat wrapped around a shitpipe.
