I would think that with all the text that Google would love sites like yours, and when you hook someone in, they could stay there for hours and read, so again lot's of Google love because of "time on site" and low bounce rate.

With reddit & tumblr I could see you getting traffic if you can find a picture to go along with the storyline and then you could post the pic, along with a couple of sentences of the story with a ... to read more here type of link
